IBM workshop 1:
Bringing cutting-edge AI technology where it counts the most – to people
What:
Learn how IBM, in working closely with counsellors and subject matter experts and harnessing IBM Watson, has created a Cognitive Assistant tool, to provide self-service capabilities and guide those who need it to resources and human care. With Watson APIs and custom machine learning – built on a cloud ecosystem that taps into new data sources – making such a significant impact on global societal issues, it becomes increasingly evident that we need to be exploring all opportunities to leverage AI technologies within our own enterprises, in order to deliver business value in ways we had never thought possible until today.
When:
Wednesday 25 March / 11:30 – 12:30
Workshop hosts:
Colleen McDowel, Associate Partner, Cognitive Process Transformation, IBM SERVICES
IBM workshop 2:
Building a Machine Learning Pipeline with Watson
What:
In this hands-on workshop, we will walk through the machine learning lifecycle using Watson tools to accelerate both the development and management of models. This session will feature Watson Studio, Watson Machine Learning, and how to use AutoAI to automate model development. Participants should have a basic understanding of programming, and although not required, we do encourage participants to bring their own laptops so they can fully benefit from this hands-on workshop. Advanced knowledge is not necessary. This workshop is designed for Data engineers, data scientists and analysts.
When:
Wednesday 25 March / 14:30 – 15:30
Workshop hosts:
Steven Green, Senior Information Management Technical Specialist, IBM
Alexandre Alle, Advanced Analytics Specialist, IBM
AWS workshop 4:
Build, Train, Deploy and Monitor ML models with Amazon SageMaker
What:
Traditional machine learning (ML) development is a complex, expensive, and iterative process made even more difficult because of the lack of integrated tools connecting the entire ML workflow. Users often need to stitch together tools and workflows, which is time-consuming and error-prone. Amazon SageMaker solves this challenge by providing all of the components used for machine learning in a single toolset so models get to production faster with much less effort and at lower cost. In this workshop, you will go through that workflow using Amazon SageMaker by building, training and optimizing a model to predict if a customer will enroll for a term deposit when using direct marketing. Finally, you will deploy the model in production, where you will be able to start generating predictions and measure the quality of those predictions. This will be a fully interactive workshop, with hands-on learning outcomes. You will walk away with an understanding of how you can remove the complexity and barriers that typically slow down developers using ML. Laptops are required for this session.
When:
Thursday 26 March / 09:00 – 10:30
Workshop hosts:
Saeed Aghabozorgi, Sr. Solutions Architect – Machine Learning Specialist, Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Jonathan Dion, Senior Technical Evangelist,
Amazon Web Services (AWS)
